Expanding over 180 acres, the Oak Grove Regional Park is located in the midst of a gorgeous oak forest in the San Joaquin Valley. Featuring a Nature Center and the Park, the Oak Grove Regional Park contains the Oak Grove Lake and several walking trails. This park, complete with fishing and boating opportunities as well as other accommodations, makes an ideal spot to visit while in the San Joaquin County.

About the Oak Grove Regional Park

Fishing and paddle boating are both permitted within the Oak Grove Regional Park. Expanding over 10 acres, the Oak Grove Lake is known for containing catfish and trout, making it a very popular place to fish during the summertime. On the weekends from April through October, paddle boats and aqua cycles are made available to rent within the park, making this a wonderful opportunity to partake in while visiting the area.

Picnic areas are available to the public as well. These areas also feature BBQ grills and are conveniently located near horseshoe pits. Whether you’re relaxing at a table, grilling at the lakeside, or partaking in a friendly game of horseshoe, there’s something for everyone visiting the Oak Grove Regional Park.

However, this isn’t everything that the Oak Grove Regional Park has to offer. There are many highlights and events offered within the park. In addition to the fishing and paddle boating opportunities, the park also offers an 18-hole disc golf course, as well as a playground for the kids. There are two nature trails within the park, one being only about ¼ of a mile in length and handicapped accessible, and the other extending to about 1.5 miles. Some events hosted within the park include the Critter Corral and Catfish Derby, which are events that focus on animals and creatures within the area. The Critter Corral is an event which invites people of all ages to come and see farm animals within the park to learn more about them, and the Catfish Derby is a fishing event which encourages all with a fishing license to come and visit Oak Grove Lake to participate.
