About the San Joaquin County Historical Museum

Run by the San Joaquin Historical Society, the San Joaquin County Historical Museum stands as a non-profit organization that strives to produce the people of Lodi, California with the most interesting and accurate information that is sure to further educate others about the local area. 

The San Joaquin Historical Society has been in assembly since 1954 and has been operating the museum since 1966. The San Joaquin County Historical Museum contains over 50,000 exquisite historical artifacts and archives within its walls. 

Some of the 50,000 artifacts range from textiles, Chinese theatrical costumes, antique household items, firearms, equestrian equipment, and even agricultural farming equipment. Other things that can be found in the possession of the San Joaquin County Historical Museum are Native American relics such as hand-woven baskets, blankets, weapons, and much more. 

The San Joaquin County Historical Museum is an 18.5-acre campus that also includes 8 exhibition buildings, storage space for collections, a workshop building built with restoration and maintenance rooms, a small gift shop, and much more. The San Joaquin County Historical Museum entry admission fees are $5 for adults aged from 18 to 64 years, $4 for seniors aged 65 or older, $4 for teens aged 13 to 17 years, and $2 for children aged 6-12. Their summer hours of operation are from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm on Wednesdays through Sundays, however, they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays as well as on certain holidays.
